Good Morning!
Happy Wednesday!
I want to start this week’s edition with the biggest thank you to every person who reads and interacts with Finding Space. It’s June 5th, which is the official first anniversary of the blog’s inception. Readership and feedback have far exceeded anything I thought was possible, and I am incredibly thankful. This week, we’re taking a look back at a few of my favorite editions and highlights from the last year. Let’s get into it.
The first Finding Space will forever hold a special place to me. I wasn’t sure what this was going to become, if anyone would care, and how it would evolve, but with each passing week, I am only more surprised at how well it has been received.
Another favorite edition of mine was Finding Space’s first “OOM” when I went local and took y’all back to where it all began. Being able to share personal moments from my life and find ways to incorporate them into something that could be a bit “professional” has been incredibly fun for me.
Another edition I loved writing and getting to explore was the 11 Hoyt feature. The building is absolutely stunning, and the amenities do not dissapoint! Who knew I’d rave about Brooklyn in the way I did. S/o to my client who recently closed on a unit here.
Each week I push myself to continue to discover and find new in an job that feels like I’ve seen / know it all, but there’s something new to learn every day, and I hope I can continue to teach y’all something as well!
Let me know in the comments below which edition you’ve really loved!
In the spirit of recaps, I’ve chosen a few restaurants that stood out to me. First up is of course, the Harry Potter bar apptly named The Cauldron. I’m a big Harry Potter fan (s/o my Slytherin brothers and sisters), and this bar hit me in the deepest part of my childhood heart.
SiSi is one of my favorite restaurants out East. The food, the drinks, the VIBE. It’s perfect. I highly reccomend you check it out if you find yourself in the Hamptons.
My last pick is Celon Lounge. I’ve spent more time here in recent months, and each time I’m there, I appreciate it more. Right across from Bryant Park, it’s the perfect lowkey spot for after-work drinks and date-night. I highly reccomend their spicy margarita if that’s your speed - they’re insane.
Originally, color swatch of the week was buried in a shopping edit. What I didn’t realize, was how it would become one of the most mentioned aspects of Finding Space!
One of my favorite colors I’ve featured is Peaceful Blue. The color is a gorgeous, calming, light blue, but what I loved even more about it was the metaphor attached. “Look to find what fuels you, feels right, and supports you. Peace is found in the appreciation for what you have and those that surround you.”
Another favorite color of mine was last week’s Forest Path. Like I mentioned, the texture and depth of the color is really beautiful. I’d love to find a use for this paint color at some point.
Finally, Milk Thistle was a gorgeous color I was happy to find. What I love about the weekly color swatch is how it pushes me to consider colors outside of something I may gravitate towards in personal choice.
In this next year of Finding Space, be on the lookout for more buildings, color swatches, and some surprises along the way. This is just the beginning.
Chat Soon,
Jonathan
