Good Morning!
Happy Friday!
What a week it has been! After a quiet return to the city, clients and showings have had me running since touchdown. I am grateful to be back and helping so many wonderful people find their forever home, I can’t help but be a bit nostalgic for the city I love so much. Sevilla. This week, I’m breaking down an incredible hotel for your future stay and a restaurant that CAN NOT be missed during your trip. Let’s get into it.
Tucked away on an unassuming street meer steps from Sevilla’s Setas, Casa del Rey Sabio was the perfect place to stay during our time in the city.
Before we get to the rooms let’s talk common spaces. Right past two of the biggest (and heaviest) doors I’ve seen in quite some time, you’re transported into what was formerly a multi-family residence’s courtyard. The entire home was renovated and brought into the 21st century while keeping with its traditional Spanish charm when it was converted.
Every part of this hotel was aesthetically pleasing. I rarely take a picture of a building’s stairwell but this one NEEDED a feature. Those curves?! Come on.
The rooms at the hotel are ripped straight from the pages of AD. Funny enough, I had to ask when I needed an iron because the owners are more focused on beauty than function (seriously, that’s what the receptionist told me), and don’t keep them in the room. Each room is apartment-style, so they incorporate kitchenettes, living rooms, a dining area, bedrooms, and the most gorgeous bathrooms. Lime-washed walls, warm woods, and oversized windows created the most perfect respite from the Sevillan summer heat.
What better way to spend your siesta than poolside right? Well, look no further, because this hotel incorporated the most gorgeous plunge pool into their rooftop escape. Perfectly situated to maximize sun-time, when the stores close (seriously everything closes in the middle of the day for siesta), head up to the pool and enjoy your afternoon in the water.
My final thoughts? This hotel offers quite literally everything you’d need. Gorgeous interiors, an incredibly central location that makes exploring the city a breeze, and a pool/rooftop to die for. What more can you ask for? Actually, I know. The price is unbeatable for a hotel of this caliber. I give this hotel a 10/10 - no notes.
Okay, food time. Let me start by saying that if you’ve never experienced tapas-style dining, you’re in for a TREAT. Small dishes, and a way of eating that allows you to experience many things off the menu. Another great part about Sevilla? The tapas are inexpensive, so go crazy. On our final night in Sevilla, we dined at El Pintón. While not the cheapest restaurant in the city, in comparison to the U.S. it’s definitely on the affordable side of things.
This week’s color is inspired by the Maestranza Bullring located in the city. The ring was completed in 1881 - though its history traces back to 1749. I’m always taken by this building - likening it to the face of an owl. Because of the building’s use and prominent red doors, I could think of no better color than Raging Bull from Behr. I think this color when used as accent would be great. Red doors can be oddly charming when paired with the right exterior, and I like to see a homeowner make a bold statement.
As always thank you for the continued support of Finding Space. I am so grateful all of you that come and read each week.
