Good Morning!
Happy Wednesday!
This week’s Finding Space is OOM as I take you on a trip to Anna Maria Island. At first glance, it seems like just a small beach town, however, the island managed to pack a significant punch. I’ll also give you a restaurant that I recommend checking out if you have the opportunity to visit, and of course, a gorgeous, Florida-inspired color swatch. Let’s get into it.
At 7 miles long and only 1.5 miles wide, the houses on Anna Maria Island are about maximizing every square inch. They’re elevated (thank you to new codes in prep for the inevitable continued rising tides), almost always 3 stories tall, and come with sky-high price tags.
I’m always on the lookout for new opportunities to present clients with; especially when visiting investor-friendly beach towns with big upsides.
AMI is currently dominated by a few major developers and I was fortunate enough to meet the listing agents behind this new masterpiece. Asking an eye-popping $8,400,000, the home nods to its location through smart design without feeling tacky or unintentional.
What you’d presume to be the front door, is actually the entrance for the home’s outdoor oasis. Elevated homes create an interesting design opportunity as they allow amenities and spaces typically found in backyards to occupy unexpected places.
Above the ground-floor outdoor space is the main living area. A gorgeous open kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, stunning countertops, and ample cabinets creates an entertainer’s paradise. Off the living/kitchen is a beautiful outdoor space perfect for hosting dinners outside.
With 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, this house doesn’t have a shortage of places for people to lay their heads. This primary was my favorite as its views were breathtaking from every corner. The staging throughout the home was impeccable and incorporated organic textures and colors that created an incredibly serene vibe.
The pièce de résistance of this home is its stunning rooftop deck with direct ocean views. While I was visiting I had the opportunity to attend a sunset broker’s open and it did not disappoint!
My opinion? This is a great island for investors looking to maximize their home’s ability to generate cash flow. I’ve already sent out information about the house we’ve been looking at to a few potential investors and all have been incredibly interested due to the home’s income potential. The island is also perfect for a quiet or more active getaway (to my younger readers worried the demo might skew more mature; we managed to have a BLAST on the island)
Anna Maria is covered in restaurants with many serving seafood caught right off the coast. Beach House is located directly on the ocean and is the essence of outdoor dining. Renovations to the property were completed in the Spring of 2017 with the mantra “be a good steward of the environment” echoed from the construction to the menu and beyond. Beach House is a model for environmentally friendly development and operations. If you’re visiting Anna Maria Island, this restaurant is not to be missed.
Inspired by the beaches of Anna Maria, Beach Foam by Behr is the perfect addition to every home set in a coastal environment. If you’re asking what you should do if you’re land-locked - have no fear! Beach Foam is a great opportunity to bring a light and bright color into spaces that need it most.
Next week’s Finding Space is incredibly special as it will be a video-podcast episode with my brother . We discussed all things investing, real estate, and our trip to Florida. Without giving too much away, you definitely won’t want to miss this.
