Good Morning!
Happy Wednesday!
One of the busiest weeks I’ve seen amidst the chaos of ever-changing mortgage rates brought me to a place I don’t frequent but maybe should…..FiDi! Opportunity knocks in the Financial District as inventory is high, and new offerings continue to come to market. This week we’re looking at a new building sure to impress, and a restaurant tucked away in the cobblestone streets most forget exist.
130 William is one of Manhattan’s most unique new development offerings in the last few years. Designed by Sir David Adjaye, the starchitect had his hands on every detail - from the hand-created exterior to the unique doorknobs found throughout residences. 130 William is more than a home; it’s an experience that caters to individual needs with ease.
The building’s interiors are accented by gorgeous double-height arched windows creating an architectural moment in every room. Currently for sale at an ask of $6.9MM, Unit 50A is a rare, double-height offering that delivers the views and drama expected in a building this sophisticated.
The Kitchens of 130 William incorporate gorgeous, custom Pedini Italian textured blackened oak cabinetry, Salvatori Pietra Cardosa marble countertops & backsplash hand-selected from the Apuan Alps in Tuscany with a Salvatori Nero Marquina cantilever providing additional seating, and state-of-the-art appliances by Gaggenau and Thermador, as well as wine storage.
In the bathrooms, Italian Bianco Carrara marble, custom Pedini Italian millwork double vanities, expansive showers, 6-foot soaking tubs, and radiant heated floors create a spa-like experience for residents and their guests. In the secondary bathrooms, the residences have custom Pedini Italian millwork vanities, complete with Salvatori Grigio Versilia marble throughout and a soaking tub, others with Salvatori Bianco Carrara marble throughout, and expansive showers.
The Primary Suites are generously proportioned across the homes. Oversized windows that include sills perfect for reading and looking out at the city, as well as walk-in closets that can be built out to fit any homeowner’s needs.
The amenity offerings of 130 William are aesthetically gorgeous, and equally as robust in function. The offerings include a full-scale health and wellness club with an infinity-edge pool, cold and hot plunge pools, dry sauna, and massage rooms, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center with a terrace, yoga studio, and basketball court. Residents also enjoy a myriad of entertainment facilities including indoor and outdoor lounges complete with a chef’s catering kitchen, club room, golf simulator, private IMAX theatre, kid’s activity center, and a private rooftop observation deck located at the top of the building, nearly 800 feet in the air.
My opinion? If living downtown is what you’re after and something unique is a non-negotiable, 130 William is where you should be looking. With homes that are sized for living and not for the developer’s pockets, amenities that create a full lifestyle experience, and custom touches found only in your building, the opportunities are endless.
During a visit to the Financial District, you probably wouldn't expect to end up in a magical pub with working wands — but that's exactly what you’ll stumble upon in this whimsical bar on Stone Street.
The Cauldron, a "fantasy-inspired molecular cocktail bar," opened on Stone Street and has become a neighborhood staple. The multi-floor experience is home to a walk-in bar, The Apothecary, on the main floor as well as a ticketed potion-making cocktail experience upstairs.
For my wizard and muggle readers, I highly suggest you make a stop at The Cauldron.
This week’s color is Farrow and Ball’s “Skimming Stone”. The color is subtle and almost invisible, however the perfect compliment in many parts of the home. Skimming Stone is call-back to the cobblestone streets found in FiDi.
As always, thank you so much for the continued support with Finding Space week after week. The kind words and thoughts mean more than I can express, and hope to continue providing something that is useful! Will talk to you real soon.
Jonathan
I love to see the first neighborhood that I called home in NYC getting some shine. Keep up the great work, Jon!
Well done!👏👏👏
